Collier's Rules

reviewed by Bruce Morris

Collier's Rules is a typography intensive guide for new and intermediate desktop publishers.
January 8, 1997
Aimed at improving the quality of desktop output the book emphasizes attention to details such as proper use of special characters, special fonts, eliminating widows and orphans, and the fine points of letter spacing. Going a little farther than similar desktop publishing guides, CR covers the essential of printing, binding, and avoiding production pitfalls. Multimedia and hypertext are covered in a separate chapter.

If the new jargon and new skills necessary for producing professional looking documents intimidate you, CR should put you on the road to desktop publishing confidence.
