PC Audio Software

Use the right software tool for the right job - most audio engineers have several. A multitrack audio package, with or without MIDI, is the centerpiece of most Tapeless Studios. A full-featured audio editor like Sound Forge is also a good item for your toolbox, as is a CD recording package. Some folks may need a dedicated notation package, or a looping/sampling tool. Most of the software covered here is for the PC. Alas, there are still very few packages with versions for both Mac and PC.
